Hello All,
What do you think of the idea that a source of information on the web on all things Imp will make potential Imp Club members decide they don't need the club ?<

Although that may happen, I think your website is an important part of promoting the cars to people outside the club. The Imp definitely has an image problem and anything that helps to show the masses what great little cars they are can only be a good thing.
Being closely linked with the Imp Club site should also encourage people to join up. Has anyone out there joined up as a result of the website?

Well sort of. I did know of the club before, and was a member a few years in the UK. The site was useful when I moved to The Netherlands to find a local contact, information about Imps in general, and a car to buy. (thanks Bert).

Murray

The site is an extension of the club really and compliments it , it's not a competitor ,
How many imp owners are there on the Internet besides the ones signed up with Coollist , not many i would think .. and once having read the large amount of information on the site would most probably join the club in the normal manner ..People like to "belong" don't they ....
So the 1 or 2 % of Imp owners who are on the internet but have not yet joined the club must be minimal .....

Keep up the good work Franka !

I doubt it, as Nick Cleak said this site compliments the club. I reckon that it will stimulate people to join the Imp-club, rather than put them off.
I use the site as a convienient and immediate source of information rather than wading through back issues of impressions. I can also do this at work when no one is looking :-)
Keep up the good work Franka, tis a splendid site with just the right balance of information and graphics. (I'm getting tired of downloading those flashy sites with gimmicy java stuff and complex frames that just show-off the authors html skills).

I obtained my 1966 super imp in feb 98 with 20000 on the clock, remembering the two imps my wife and I had in 1968/72 I bough the car thinking it would be a good second car for work .
then my thoughts turned to spares and the internet, on finding the good lady Franka site I was intrigued to find a whole new sub culture.
Spured on by this I joined the Imp club in May, and found the company at the Hemsworth water park to be helpfull and interesting
Now the proud owner of a second imp, a Caledonian presently at the paint shop.

You could have a dual site that checks membership for full access, and also allows guests!
Personally I think the site is no threat to the club - and I don't intend to stop using the club or the site!
I'd agree with other comments too about Franka's site being one of the best!
Cheers

Hi all
A confession - I haven't yet got around to joining the Imp Club...
Little matters like last week's episode as 'roadie' for the NZ Youth Jazz Orchestra seem to gobble time.
When delivering one of the young musicians home last night, I saw something nice - an Imp which is in A1 condition aaand that I have never seen before.
White, 2 headlight Sunbeam saloon with a chrome flash incorporating the Sunbeam nameplate across the front - definitely not a NZ-built car, but it has been in NZ since about 1970 judging by it's FJ.... registration plates. No signs of Sport pretensions. This was at Point Howard, near Wellington. Anybody know this car?
Cheers

Hi Franka and all others,
Well it possible we loose a couple of new members, but we'll gain a few also.
Fact is Imp enthusiasts can find us on the internet and will know about this very enthusiastic club, and I can tell them that it's a great club to join so just do it.
Save some money by investing a little in The Imp Clubs membership ! (Or sell your Imp to a real enthusiast)

Hello all,
I joined the Imp club because of the Imp site.
Because my Internet address was rather mixed up, that happens with big companies who outsource the X400 and Internet connections, Franka took the time to find out what my proper addres was. Thanks Franka.
As for the Site, I can imagine people not joining a club but still visit the site for particular info on Imp's. But they would probably not join ANY club because they do not love their cars the way most of us do.
And if you join the club you get still even more, what about "Impressions" I still really look forward to every next copy (although I havenot contributed anything sofar). I really spell them from start to end.
Meeting people at Autojumbles, Valkenswaard 2 years ago, the Alexandra Palace Imp Club stand, etc. And the 'belonging to' also plays a part, talking to other members is easier if you can say that you are a member.
So guess whether the Site is open to all or members only does not really make a difference. Either you love your car and are interested in either the technical side of the car or the social side of a club : you either join or you don't.
So Franka keep up the good work on the Site, you know that I really like it. And all people making the club worth to be a member off, also keep up the good work.
And to non members, you really should join it is worth it. If the Imp site is this good you can imagine how good the complete membership package is.
Regards
Pieter

Yes, making this info available can only help preserve Imps, whoever they belong to, - a good thing. The site is excellent - well presented, and really informative.

Hello All!
I would not have found the Imp Club had I not found 'The Site'. Definitely, one of the Best sites out there!!
I guess Impressions is all a US member could expect but, that's fine by me! (And of course, Regalia!! ;-)) The only other Imps I see are on the `net and in Impressions!
Franka, keep up the great work!

I love my car as much as anyone, it gets locked up with a Club outside my window, it is never far from my. At night when I go into town I take a common Mitsi so as my car is not likeliy to be stolen. And my car really isn't all that flash, but its my car.
I am unemployed, have been for several months, I would love to join the Imp Club, and get the Impressions magazine, but For a New Zealander, it costs around $75 a year. So personally I would be missing out, because its just not feasable to join at the present moment :-(
