Thank you Nick, for sharing that sad news. I've set up the picture you attached as my wallpaper as my tribute.. is there any contact address we can send condolences?

81.... a very fine innings indeed, with a couple of highlights none of us Imp nuts are ever likely to forget.

Hi everyone,

Thanks Nick for passing on the sad news about George.

I feel that it would be appropriate for the Imp club to send condolences to his family. What do others think?

If we are all of the opinion that it would be appropriate to do so, can someone in the U/K make the necessary arrangements. I feel that this is the least we can do for a man who made such a commitment to Imp racing and development.

Regards.

Dear Gillian, if you are sending condolences to the family, would you pass my wife's and mine. We never met George but that has not stopped us admiring him from afar. May his memory be kept alive by all of us. Darcy and Lyn Maddock

i guess the editor of the mag will know , as George recently had a letter in the magazine ... pity the editors are not yet on the internet ...

it was ironic that i found that photo a couple of months ago in a motorsport memorabilia shop , it is one of my favourites ... you saw what i wrote in the March issue of Impressions regarding the photo ..
ironic isn't it .....George should die the same month as i had the picture published , a sort of pre-tribute ...

thanks Gill

No, I was pssing the news to the editor of Impressions, which I have done.
I wouldn't know where to contact the family, and feel it would be presumptious of me to do so. Sorry.

I will pass this on to the Chairman, as well as the editor. Gill

The Club Chairman, Graham Beddoe, has just telephoned to ask me to tell you all, and especially those who suggested it, that he has written a letter of condolence on behalf of the Club to Mr Bevan's widow, and will be posting it tomorrow (Tuesday).

He also asked me to thank the mailing list subscribers as he had not heard the sad news before I rang him last night.
