Yes , the Imp ball joint has to be cut off and the end of the shaft machined down to the metric diameter of the Fiesta end joint . i think it best to use the thick type imp steering rod , i don't know if i am right , but i think the Rootes steering rods were thin say 7/16 Dia and the Quinton Hazel ones 9/16 dia ??

They are both R/H Threads , best to locktight them as the adjustment is as before with the inner sleeve .. i have a sleeve both sides ... it makes things simpler rather than having different parts each side ..

I am not sure of the size .
Malcolm Anderson does them about £25 each .. you have to send your old ones back to him ...
