Hi everyone,

After many, many years of happy and at times frustrating Imp ownership I have finally decided to cease involvement with Imps. During my time with Imps I have owned and dismantled some 59 of them and consequently have a lot of parts available to swap/trade/sell or give away.

My decision to cease involvement with Imps was very difficult to make as I have had a great deal of fun and friendship during my involvement with these vehicles - not to mention speeding tickets (the ultimate being for an alleged estimate of 114mph), broken bones, lenghty periods of hospitalisation, skinned knuckles, vehicle fires, engine blow ups and many, many very happy and funny memories.

I would like to forward my thanks to Richard Knight for founding the Club which has enabled me to make contact many other Imp enthusiasts and the sourcing of parts to keep my cars running - Does anyone have a contact address for Richard?

Prior to the founding of the Club I sourced my parts from Chrysler Special Tuning in Humber Road Coventry. I have nothing but praise for the excellent service that I received from Tim Millington and staff - even if they wouldnt let me in to see the Sunbeam/Lotus rally cars at the Special Tuning Division in Coventry in 1980!

Special thanks must also go to Brian Wright who for many years provided me with parts. Not once did anything arrive late and no request was ever to much trouble for Brian - Can anyone help with an address so I can forward a letter of thanks to Brian?

Whilst I was clearing up my parts stock the other day I discovered that I have quite a few of the original blue covered Imp owners handbooks as supplied with new vehicles - one booklet is like new and the others range from very good to average condition. I also have one original equipment service booklet (the handbooks are FREE as long as you pay the postal charges).

I also have two (2) Chrysler factory manuals, one (1) Chrysler parts manual, several after market repair manuals, two (2) of the green covered "Tuning Imps" booklet and one (1) hard covered copy of Tim Millingtons book available for sale.

If anyone in Australia or NZ is interested in any of the books etc I can be contacted in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia on my home telephone number of 08 90 211.139 or alternatively on mobile 041 717.8815.

My final Imp was an Australian GT Imp which is the equivalent of the British sport. The vehicle is private plated with the registration plate "IMP".

The vehicle was bright red, 998cc, twin 40DCOE, big valve Wills ringed head, R22 cam, combined inlet exhaust manifold, 4 wheel disc brakes, 13" wheels with Dunlop Le Mans tyres and many other modifications. Overall a really terrific and very, very fast roadgoing Imp which I have sold to another Imp enthusiast in Perth, Western Australia. I have told the new owner of the Imp Club and he is definately intending to join.

Best wishes to all Club members and Imp enthusiasts and I hope that you have as much fun with your Imps as I have had.
