I have a pet car. It's tiny, it's cute, it's fast and bright blue metallic. If you live in The Hague, maybe you've seen (or heard ;-)) it around:
It's a
, cousin to Hillman Imp (who has an extended family). It has a 998cc engine, and two Stromberg CD150 carbs.
76-10-PN (also known as NJ-13-ZX) has lead an interesting life of accidents and rebuilds. Worst accident: frontal collision, x-mas 1987. Worst rebuild: by a BOVAG firm 'Zeldenrust' in Appingedam. Think twice before you deliver your Imp into the hands of a firm that is not used to build (or paint) to last.
In March '96 we celebrated its 25th birthday, a joyfull fact as it is still going strong despite all and because now it's past the age of having to pay road tax.
Specifics:
It has a special cylinder head, with the letter LP in it. We don't know what it stands for. (Perhaps Lynton Prototype ?? ;-) )
It has nice alloy wheels as well, but those have Vredestein tyres on them that just don't give enough grip; and I can't get other 12" tyres in 175-70 for them...
